ABOUT THE BOOK

I can’t go on until I share my story is how I felt much of my young adult life. Countless acts of abuse at the hands of men—intimately, attempted kidnapping, physical abuse, suicide attempts, a baby in heaven, a seven-week marriage, a body riddled with health problems such that I am now a totally disabled veteran with a home pharmacy after many surgeries. I was too numb to realize the significance of all that had happened to me. So I acted out. I went into the military to get better, and there, even more troublesome things happened to me. Later, I went to Costa Rica to explore my Hispanic heritage. There I encountered traumatic experiences, the last of my twelve suicide attempts and the true beginning of my healing. There I began the rough draft of my book. It was there I learned my daddy died while he was in prison. He was incarcerated in 1988 as the FBI’s number one child molester of young boys. This is when I knew I had to tell my story before I could complete my healing.
